Laurus College will begin offering bachelor degrees in July 2018. Setting themselves apart from traditional higher-ed and online educational formats, Laurus offers a unique learning experience that features live classes and a real-world training approach that allows students to use the same technology and industry-standard tools found in today’s workplace. Students can attend their local campus or take classes at home. “We are very excited to launch our bachelor of science degree programs,” said Jeff Redmond, School Chancellor. “When we first decided to pursue these programs, we knew that there was a large, unmet need for both students and employers in our local area. Our hope is that these programs can help meet that need while also building bridges with the other educational providers in our communities including the local high schools and community colleges.”
Eddie Taylor, CEO for the United Way of Northern Santa Barbara County, weighed in on the Laurus College announcement, “It’s not a secret that people living in this area have limited options for pursuing higher education in their own communities. We are anticipating a very positive impact from the Laurus College new Bachelor’s degree offerings, and are looking forward to seeing more of these kinds of opportunities develop down the road.”
“The Laurus System was built so that any student, regardless of his or her educational background, could succeed,” explains Dr. Neale the Laurus College President and Chief Academic Officer. “Every student, whether they’re taking classes online or at one of our campuses, is provided with a friendly, interactive learning environment that includes smaller class sizes, a personal computer, and real-time assistance from caring instructors and staff.”
Established in 2006, Laurus College delivers a quality education and quality experience through its career-focused programs, including two-year Occupational Associate degrees and four-year Bachelor of Science degrees.
